Cost of Studying in UK Tuition and fees

Tuition fees and application fees are varies in different location and different universities; however, a general idea is as following:

Undergraduate (bachelor Degree) – £10,000 to £30,000

Graduate (Master’s degree) – (£14,000)

Accommodation

Cost of living varies, depending upon the city where you live. UK visa and immigration requires students to have a budget of about £12,65 per month to stay in London and £1,015 per month outside.

There are majorly two intakes available in the UK institutes – January/February intake and September/October intake; however, although only few universities have the option of, May intake can sometimes come in handy.

Language Proficiency Requirements

The English language proficiency requirement varies with universities and the programs you intend to study; however, following scores are generally the case to be eligible to apply.

IELTS

Foundation courses – 5.5 (or TOEFL/PTE with equivalent score)

Bachelor’s degree – Min. 6 with band score no less than 5.5 (79 for TOEFL or PTE with equivalent score)

Master’s degree – Min. 6.5 with band score no less than 6 (91 for TOEFL or PTE with equivalent score)

Typically Nepalese students go to UK with Tier 4 (General) visa; however, there are more.

Tier 4 (General) student visa

Tier 4 (General) student visa : Students aged 16 or over who have been offered a place in a course at a UK educational institution.Three months before the start of your course.Up to one week before if your course lasts six months or fewer. When can you apply for visa?

Mostly students can apply for visa with earliest of 3 months before the class start date and generally visa application takes about 3 weeks for decision.

Fees

It costs £348 to apply for this visa from outside the UK. You must pay £348 per person for any dependants.

Arrival

You can arrive in the UK before your course starts:

up to 1 week before, if your course lasts 6 months or less

up to 1 month before, if your course lasts more than 6 months

How long you can stay depends on the kind of course you’re doing and what study you’ve already completed.
